Want results? Plan ahead for your week of eating.

I talk to people every day that are working hard at trying to lose weight or firm up those trouble spots but are having trouble because they can’t seem to get their eating under control .Sound familiar?

A big part of this is due to a lack of preparation. We all do it. We rush out the door to get to work on time and forget to start the day off with a meal or we don’t pack any food for the day assuming we will figure that out as it comes.It is so important to plan ahead. I wanted to just give you a few tips that work for me.  First off, these are only some ideas. If you have any allergies to anything I mention here please don’t eat it. I am simply giving you some ideas.

Set aside some time on the weekend to prepare some food in bulk for the week. This will help. I personally like to buy boneless chicken breasts in bulk and I cook them at home  on Sunday all at once for the week. bake, broil, poach or grill them. You can do this with fish, or turkey cutlets or any other lean cuts of meat as well.You can set several of them in your fridge in individual baggies and some in the freezer for later in the week. I also hard boil 18 egg. I peel them for easy access and put them into a large ziploc baggie.  My family loves this.Then if you make up a large  colorful salad ( leave out the tomatoes and keep them cut up seperately because they make the salad rot faster) and place this covered  in your fridge you can grab a handful and stick it in a tupperware container, grab a chicken breast or a hard boiled egg or maybe a 1/4 cup of  low fat cottage cheese and toss that in, you have quick meal choices.

Don’t forget to have a variety of choices and grab enough to be able to graze all day. carrot sticks are easy to prepare ahead too. It’s even easier now that they sell the mini bags of the tiny carrots. Perfect for snacking on with some nuts or a piece of low fat cheese some fruit or a low sugar low fat yogurt. Don’t forget to bring your favorite water bottle to drink from and refill it all day.

If you stock up on some fresh fruits, you can cut them up in advance too. you can also make up some wraps with your lean meats like turkey, or chicken, hummus or tuna and make them up ahead as well. If you start your day about 15 minutes earlier, you should have plenty of time to eat a healthy breakfast before you leave. Breakfast is not a meal that should ever be skipped. it’s the meal that gets the metabolism going. Eat often and go lean and green, but most of all PLAN AHEAD!

Yoga Is at the Fit Club

Yoga has started! No experience necessary.

Classes will meet on Tuesday at 7pm and Saturday mornings at 11:00am. These classes will last an hour to an hour and a half long. On Saturday our class will be a beginner style class with lots of stretches included.

On Tuesday the Class will be a general Yoga workout.

There is no need to pre-register but we would like to hear from you if you plan to attend. This gives the instructor a chance to plan accordingly. Give us a call with any questions or comments about this.

Fit Club Presents The Freestyle Fight Institute with our new boxing ring!

We are now offering classes for MMA, Self Defense, Beginner Boxing and Judo upstairs in the Fit Club.

We have multiple skilled, experienced and certified instructors ready to train you in any of these martial arts. Our new 20 foot boxing ring is up and ready to use. Come and check it out.

  Afternoon and evening classes will be offered.

 We have different types of packages available. We plan to keep it affordable so most anyone can participate.

New Class Times for the New Year!

Due to popular request we are now offering our group class at 10:00am.  It’s the same class that we offer at the other times. Be sure to eat one hour before you come and bring water to drink. This class will be offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only.

Our “Lunch Crunch” noon class will now be available Monday through Friday.

The 5:30 pm class will still continue to be offered on Monday through Thursday only.

The 6:30am class will now be available on Fridays. These classes will now be available every weekday.

Be ready to be challenged. Bring water to drink and BE SURE to eat about an hour before you come. This is very important.

On October 4th-Our Free Saturday Classes are starting back up!

Due to popular demand we have decided to start our Saturday classes back up. They will begin on October 4th at the usual time of 10:00 am. The class lasts about a half an hour. The only change we are making is we would like to request that you let us know in advance if you will be coming so that we can better plan the class according to the class size. Also if for any reason we ever need to cancel the class, we can contact the participants to let them know.Please be sure to eat about an hour before you come. This keeps you from having your blood sugar drop during the class. We do a lot of multi-joint exercises that take lot of energy. Mega calories are burned, so be sure the food you eat is good quality food that that your body can call upon to utilize. Choose something that will stay with you. Just a piece of fruit is not enough. Be sure to include a lean protein source. Also bring a bottle or two of water to hydrate with. You will definitely need this. We do sell water at the gym for $1 per bottle if you forget yours. Also, plan to sweat. Wear something comfortable. Don’t overdress. It’s a garage -style gym. Nothing fancy about it, but we pride ourselves on the quality of the workout. That is what is most important. We switch up our workouts every class. We doubt you will ever get bored here. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to come and try us. As I already posted here, Saturdays are always free. Expect to be challenged while having fun.

Just let us know you’re coming, leave your name and be sure to leave a return contact number for us to call in case anything comes up. Show up a few minutes before 10:00 if you have not been to this class yet so we can go over the workout of that day with you and get you to sign the necessary liability forms.  

New class time- Lunch Crunch Workout!!

We are now having our class from 12:oo noon until 12:30 Monday through Thursday. It’s called the Lunch Crunch workout. This gives you the opportunity to get a great workout in during your lunch break. It runs on time so you can get back to work on time.

The class is structured just like our other classes are. We switch the workout around every day so you don’t get bored. We use multi-joint exercises so that you can burn the most calories in the time we have. It’s a challenging class that can be done by people at ANY level of fitness. This is because all of the exercises are modifiable. This class is like a group personal training.

Each day when you arrive at the Fit Club the workout is already written up on the chalk board in the gym. You are instructed on how to do each exercise in proper form.  The workout begins.  You are working out independantly however you will be corrected if your form is off and you will be motivated to challenge and push yourself during the class.

We like to do different original and fun exercises. Some of the exercises are very basic and they get more challenging as your strength and endurance increases. Others may be exercises you have never done before. We use all of the resourses around us to see to it that you get the most out of your time with us.

We want you to get real results. We are here for you. Really.
